Dallas

On Sunday, I went to Dallas to visit my friend, Squidi. After packing, we set off to discover a big crack about 3.5 feet long on the windshield in our rental car (from AVIS), which was surprising as about 3 hours ago it only was about 1.35 inches! We stopped at the AVIS location at the airport to have our car swapped. I had to bike to the lobby because I bought my bike on the trip, which I wasn’t exactly pleased about. (At least it meant that I didn’t have to walk!) The other car that we swapped with was downgraded, as it didn’t have back vents or built-in Google Maps on its screen. (The first car did.) Also, it’s worth noting that the windshield also had a chip. Finally, we continued our journey. The trip was long, so we took a pit stop at a McDonalds in Fairfield to go to the bathroom and eat (I was starving). Finally, the boring and long journey ended! Now, I didn’t have to sit in a cramped car that didn’t even have space to stretch my legs.

After we arrived, Squidi and I biked. My bike had multiple gears and his had a speedometer. After we went in, Squidi showed me his 50-year-old computer and we jumped on the trampoline. After, we watched TV – which was hard to do with him using his hacker to turn the TV off. Then, Squidi showed me how to upload car mods and then it was time to go to bed – It was 10:20 (est). I wasn’t happy about our bedroom’s shower as its water pressure was low – the water only traveled a horizontal length of 1.5 feet before falling on the floor. Also, when it was surprising that only my dad bought his toothbrush (my mom and I didn’t). Even more surprising: My my mom spent 1.5 hours packing – forgetting her toothbrush, toothpaste, and skin lotion!

The next day, my mom got out of bed first. My my dad’s alarm woke me up, though it wasn’t until Squidi knocking the door that got me out of bed. He and I went to see their family’s chinchillas, but we only saw the gray one. Next, we ate breakfast – breakfast tacos. I got bacon, eggs, and cheese on mine, but Squidi only got bacon on his. Next, we went to change into our clothes. My my mom persuaded me to change quickly by saying that after I finished changing, we would see Squidi’s my dad’s circuit. Seeing it was cool. Next, we played with the car mod on a car driving game – it lagged because Squidi had too many mods, so unfortunately, he had to delete some of his favorite mods. Then, we played with two circuit kits – one was a snapcircuits kit (from elenco) and the other was a circuit maze – where you use the parts from a challenge card and the starting setup to complete the challenge. Next, my my mom opened my computer so I could show my code on blockly.games and my own game, Retro corner catch. Then, my my mom went to send my my dad to a soccer match, so me and Squidi decided to watch some youtube videos (shorts and Mikey and JJ, which ). We first were inside, then outside, and then we went inside because of the heat and the mosquitoes. Then, Catherine (Squidi’s my mom) made us stop watching Youtube and suggested we go to the pool, but when we went to change, Squidi got distracted by my old ipad and its large screen. Then, when I told him that I didn’t know the password, he started trying to unlock it. Finally, when my my mom arrived, she got us together and after changing, we finally went to the pool. The pool was fun, too. We had a (unsuccessful) water slide made out of two floats. (The drag was too much, so for one person to go on it, the other person had to hold the float (which is annoying).) We also had a robot shark that swam into drains (another annoying thing, because we had to fish it out). First, we had a water gun fight, and I won because I had a full one and Squidi had a half - full and two empties. Then, Squidi gave me all of the guns (which I refilled) and what he said was the ultimate water gun – a watering can, because he wanted to go inside and see my Ipad. Still, my my mom didn’t allow us to, so we made a pool on the big raft. When we checked again, my my mom made us wait 10 minutes – it was 2:10 and we left at 3. To entertain ourselves, we dragged ourselves out on the cleaning robot and the other person would reel them in. Finally, when Squidi got bored doing that, we made another pool on the raft, and when the water level was high enough to activate the robot shark’s swimming system (or after 5 loads of the watering can), we were done for the day. We had an outdoor shower (which had cold water but at least it had good water pressure), and after changing, we finally played on my ipad. Squidi was impressed by my rollercoaster and I also showed him my underground base, being proud of myself. Then, it was time to leave.

As we left, Catherine gave me three snacks and Squidi prepared a lemonade for the journey. Then, when I was in the car, we realized that we had forgot my computer and Ipad. After getting the electronics and saying goodbyke, we went off on the journey. When we got to the pickup location, my my dad did eventually find his way to our car, but it was funny that at first, he was looking for a red car (our family car) instead of a black one (our rental car)! We also stopped at a McDonalds this time too – It started when I needed to pee. Eventually I couldn’t hold it anymore, so I ended up peeing in the bottle! When we got to the McDonalds, my my mom didn’t order anything, but my dad and I ordered a McValue meal on the app that I think was very good – 20 pc chicken nuggets, 2 cheeseburgers, and 2 medium fries only for $10 (with tax, $11)! Finally, after the trip back, we finally arrived at home. Looking back on this trip, I only have one complaint – the trip is too long!

Fifa world cup

The Fifa world cup game we were going to was Portugal vs Uzbeckistan, at the Houston Stadium. We got to Downtown by rental car, and we returned our car at the downtown Avis location. Over there, we rode the MetroRail Red line to the Houston Stadium.

When we got to the stadium, we got a Sprite (yum), two hot dogs, one cheese and one beef. We also went to the bathroom, which was way too crowded. After we found our seats, which weren’t the best because they were at the back of the layer closest to the field, at least the stadium had a big screen so I could see. I also found out that Portugal had more supporters. When the game started, all of the people stood up, so we ate hot dogs. I liked the sausage as it didn’t have the tough layer of skin that most sausages had. When we finished the sausages, the people were still standing, so we stood up. Since I wasn’t tall enough, I had to stand on the chair to see, which wasn’t that bad as the view was pretty good. In the first half, we had a human wave, which was fun. At my location, During the water breaks and halftime break, I played 8 x 8 2048, but it didn’t go as well in the water breaks, as they were too short. Then, during the second half, we had most of the goals, and I figured out a way to see a goal two times without replays: the tvs were a bit behind the main screen, so I could watch it on the the main screen, then focus attention to the tvs to see the goal twice! At the end of the game, when Portugal got a free kick, everybody thought that Cristiano Ronaldo was going to shoot (he shot at the goal for the last 100 times), but he let his teammate shoot and he scored! In the end, Portugal won 5 - 0. Also, we had a full house, about 65,200 people.

As we left, the officials made us go to the NRG Center for cooling, which was surprising as we would only detour and walk in the sun for the same distance, and another surprising thing was that there were two lanes for Metro, one north and one south. Somehow, they all went to the same place, which meant that a person who went into the south lane could end up on a northbound train!
