Dallas and Fifa: memories

A draft about a Dallas visit, car trouble, bikes, circuits, swimming, and friends.

On Sunday, I went to Dallas to visit my friend, Squidi. After packing, we set off to discover a big crack about 3.5 feet long on the windshield in our rental car from AVIS, which was surprising because about three hours earlier it had only been about 1.35 inches. We stopped at the AVIS location at the airport to have our car swapped. I had to bike to the lobby because I brought my bike on the trip, which I was not exactly pleased about. At least it meant that I did not have to walk.

The other car that we swapped with was downgraded because it did not have back vents or built-in Google Maps on its screen. The first car did. It is also worth noting that the windshield also had a chip. Finally, we continued our journey. The trip was long, so we took a pit stop at a McDonald's in Fairfield to go to the bathroom and eat. I was starving. Finally, the boring and long journey ended. Now I did not have to sit in a cramped car that did not even have space to stretch my legs.

After we arrived, Squidi and I biked. My bike had multiple gears and his had a speedometer. After we went in, Squidi showed me his 50-year-old computer and we jumped on the trampoline. After that, we watched TV, which was hard to do with him using his hacker to turn the TV off. Then Squidi showed me how to upload car mods, and then it was time to go to bed. It was 10:20 Eastern time.

I was not happy about our bedroom's shower because its water pressure was low. The water only traveled a horizontal length of 1.5 feet before falling on the floor. It was surprising that only Dad brought his toothbrush. Mom and I did not. Even more surprising: my mom spent 1.5 hours packing and forgot her toothbrush, toothpaste, and skin lotion.

The next day, Mom got out of bed first. Dad's alarm woke me up, though it was not until Squidi knocked on the door that I got out of bed. He and I went to see their family's chinchillas, but we only saw the gray one. Next, we ate breakfast tacos. I got bacon, eggs, and cheese on mine, but Squidi only got bacon on his.

Next, we played with the car mod on a car driving game. It lagged because Squidi had too many mods, so unfortunately, he had to delete some of his favorite mods. Then we played with two circuit kits: one was a Snap Circuits kit from Elenco, and the other was a circuit maze where you use the parts from a challenge card and the starting setup to complete the challenge.

Later we went to the pool. The pool was fun, too. We had an unsuccessful water slide made out of two floats. The drag was too much, so for one person to go on it, the other person had to hold the float, which was annoying. We also had a robot shark that swam into drains, another annoying thing because we had to fish it out.
